"Remember, hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things, and no good thing ever dies."
-Stephen King

Raised and residing in the scenic Annapolis Valley of Canada’s Nova Scotia, Jenny has had a strong connection to nature and the animals living in it from an early age. Summers spent exploring the woods, lakes, and shores of Nova Scotia has strengthened this connection and today, Jenny’s art focuses on animating that passion through animal portraiture. The self-taught artist believes that pets are our closest connection to the grounding nature that surrounds us, and their unconditional love and selfless giving make them the primary subjects of Jenny’s portraits. Living with her family’s Siamese cats, rabbit, hamster, and fish while frequently interacting with friends’ and family’s dogs throughout the years has afforded Jenny the chance to experience the undeniable strength of the bond between humans and their pets.

Using coloured pencils as her primary medium, Jenny strives to capture the unique soul and characters of her portrait subjects using photorealism. Fascinated by the myriad of messages pets effectively communicate to their families through their bond, each portrait becomes an expression of the exceptional love that humans and animals share. Jenny hopes that her work will provide people with a memorable reminder of that bond that will last through the years.

When not working on her art, Jenny enjoys spending time with her family and pets, practicing mindfulness, reading, photography, fishing, campfires, swimming, and exploring the natural world.
